Funding is listed given some universities consider this the main measure of a scholar's impact, which is unfortunate, as this puts sicence in the 'back seat' and chasing grants as the primary pursuit. Ultimately, impact comes from the creation of new knowledge which leads to a better understanding of our place in the cosmos.
